With 20+ years of real-world experience as an artist, songwriter, and producer in pop, folk, and indie music, I offer mentorship tailored to your project. Together, we’ll make your creative voice stronger, more authentic, and truly your own.
Songwriting at its best is simple, beautiful and extremely enjoyable and fulfilling. It's a magical thing to behold, when all the pieces of the puzzle falls right into place.
I wouldn’t have written many songs, though, if inspiration were the only method.
Songwriting is also rewriting a lyric for the tenth time, spending years searching for the right chorus, or trying seventeen different arrangements for that one song you believe in — but that just won’t click no matter what you throw at it.
Like learning an instrument, becoming a better songwriter takes practice. And you improve much faster when you isolate the problems, focus on them, and practice the right things. That’s where I come in: I can help diagnose what you need most and give you the tools to grow.
My lessons are for anyone who wants to grow as a songwriter, music producer, or both. And if you want to learn guitar or music theory, understand how a compressor works, or even wrestle with bigger career questions — like whether to get a manager or sign with a label — we can dive into that too.
I’ll meet you exactly where you are and stay in your corner every step of the way, until we reach the goals we set together.
I teach in English, Danish, or German.
Everything you need to grow as a songwriter, producer, and artist — in one place.
Songwriting fundamentals
We’ll lean into contrast—section lifts, density, register, lyric point of view—and learn from the masters through close listening and reverse-engineering. Then we’ll apply those moves to your songs, testing alternatives and refining what works. You’ll get tons of exercises and tools to keep ideas flowing and avoid getting stuck.
Arrangement & production
Turn sketches into records: select instruments, shape texture and dynamics, write parts that serve the song, and map transitions/lifts/drops. Work with effects and develop workflow templates so ideas move quickly. Listen to and learn from reference material.
Mixing & sound
Practical, musical mixing: gain staging, EQ/compression, space (reverb/delay), panning, and reference-based balance. Discuss mixing workflows and specific techniques and tools. We’ll build vocal-first mixes with depth and impact, plus explore mixing templates and stems/export/loudness basics.
Creative process
Set up a repeatable system—warm-ups, limitation games, timed sprints, critique loops. We’ll analyze references and your songs, and co-write when it helps momentum and finishing.
Career guidance
From release plans and pitching to managers/labels/PR, we’ll design a path that fits your goals. We can cover EPKs, budgeting, grants, live setup, and sustainable content that won’t burn you out.
Mindset & psychology
We’ll work directly with the inner critic and build the ability to bounce back from dips, grounded in the healthy-adult mindset and real self-compassion. The aim is simple: keep it fun and enjoyable so you show up consistently, stay curious, and finish the songs that matter to you.
All the best, Frederik.
